A functional mini sauna is the choice of many summer residents

Turnkey mini sauna
A huge hello to all readers!

Walking through summer cottages in the evening, you involuntarily notice that a bathhouse is becoming an integral part of almost every garden house. Having a bathhouse in your dacha is already the norm, and not the privilege of a select few.

I can’t help but remember my childhood from the eighties, when having a bathhouse at your dacha was extremely prohibited. Many at that time “disguised” it as a small flock or outbuilding. Today times are different, but a mini bath remains the choice of many summer residents and ordinary residents of the private sector. Let's try to figure out why this is so...

DIY artistic painting

If desired, the stove can be decorated with a design. Folk motifs will add individuality to your home. Artistic painting is easy to do. Coloring composition:

  • Dilute multi-colored gouache with water.
  • Add 1-2 raw egg yolks to the mixture.
  • Stir well until smooth.
  • Use as directed within 12 hours.

The design can be applied with a painting brush or with a sponge. The use of stencils is permitted. Painting depends on personal imagination. For beginners, it is better to use simple patterns.

In addition to the egg coloring mixture, the remaining whitewash is used - gouache is added to the solution. High temperature oil paint can be used.

It is best to carry out all furnace work before the onset of autumn. Cast iron parts (oven, doors) are best treated with fire-retardant or silicon-organic enamels. This will protect them from corrosion.

Creative process.

Since childhood I loved the bathhouse. I remember how Father brought me to the newly built new Krasnopresnensky Baths. It was hot and hard to breathe. But I really liked the feeling of weightlessness when, after the steam room, you dive into the cool pool. And I fell in love with the Russian bathhouse. Then I visited all the famous and not so famous Moscow baths. Central, Don, Seleznevsky. I liked the Sandunovskys the most. Although there’s not much steam there, it’s still very beautiful at the highest level. I have always been an esthete. He transferred all his friends and comrades to Sanduny. Now, 25 years later, they would not be at all surprised to learn that I am engaged in the production of baths.

I started designing collapsible frame baths back in the late 80s. At that time, an individual bathhouse was very rare. The times were not far off when a large tax was charged for bathhouses on a summer cottage. And it was a little difficult to find materials for construction in the USSR. I made a project for a small collapsible frame bathhouse. An original form for those times. I turned to DSK for help. But I did not find understanding. These were not the times to encourage such initiatives. I had to give up the idea for 20 years.

A few years ago, my friends rented a dacha for the summer. There was no bathhouse there, which made everyone very sad. I advised them to buy a small, portable bathhouse. Use it for a season, and then transfer it to my dacha for storage or sell it. We needed a small, economical, cute and practical ready-made garden sauna. We started looking, and it turned out that there are no such baths in nature. Or rather, there are transportable, ready-made baths, but they are gramozian, heavy and look like a slightly sanitized cabin. Then I remembered my childhood dreams and projects. And he took up a pencil. What was needed was a bathhouse that was not large, that would allow for a full steam bath in the Russian bathhouse mode, always with a shower, and that could comfortably accommodate two people. In addition, it should be fast, that is, it should warm up in a short time and consume a minimum amount of firewood. Since in most of our garden plots the owners have neither space, nor firewood, nor time for a whole bath day. And of course, the bathhouse should be beautiful or, at least, fit harmoniously between the beds and greenhouses, pleasing to the eye.

I took up the task with great enthusiasm, because the task was to my liking and, moreover, it revived old youthful dreams from oblivion. The grains fell on fertile soil. And my first project, the Emelya bathhouse, immediately, immediately won the “People’s Recognition” prize at the “Gardener and Farmer” exhibition 2010 at the All-Russian Exhibition Center. I was amazed by such an unexpected recognition.

Communications in a mini bath

Before installing the lining, you should think about electrical and plumbing. It is better if all these communications are hidden under the inner lining. You should plan in advance all the routes of electrical wiring and pipes and lay them under the lining.

The water is drained into a simple drainage hole, which is dug not far from the building. The use of a drainage well or septic tank will obviously be superfluous here.

If you do not pay attention to ventilation, then over time an unpleasant smell of dampness will appear. The healing properties of the steam room will decrease. So, properly done ventilation is the key to health, comfort and long service life of the entire building. We shouldn't forget about this.

Since the steam room is small, it can be heated with an electric heater without using too much electricity. Although for us, a wood-burning stove with its unique crackling of firewood and humming in the chimney is more acceptable. Quite often they use homemade metal stoves, as they say: cheap and cheerful.

When purchasing a ready-made compact bathhouse, all the main communications are already properly made. All that remains is to find a power source using a simple extension cord. Water is also supplied from the central water supply or well through a special connector. I connected the light and water - the mini sauna is almost ready for use. In a mobile camping situation, it’s even simpler: scoop up water from the river, pour it into the tank, light the stove and off you go...

In conclusion, I would like to say that no matter what kind of mini sauna you have, the most important thing is that you like it. You shouldn’t chase fashion and your neighbor with a fat wallet. Small is better, but useful and unique.

Correct application

It is recommended to apply heat-resistant paint with a regular brush, roller or spray gun . Of course, if you choose the spray can option, then there is no need for tools.

The only note: before coating, the surface must be cleaned of dirt and degreased.

Before covering the surface with paint from a can, you need to stir it well and wait until small air bubbles come out.

In most cases, before painting, it is advisable to cover the surface with a primer , and the paint should be applied in several layers, waiting for each one to dry.
