Sauna stove "Feringer": description, owner reviews, characteristics

There are a large number of sauna stoves on the market. A distinctive feature of the models can be safely called high-quality heaters. They are produced in both open and closed types. The diameter of the heaters can vary greatly. The permissible volume of the steam room depends on this.

The design of the stoves presented by the company is very attractive. Decorative inserts look great on them. For ease of use, the stoves have a convenient ash pan. If necessary, the grate can always be cleaned. Also, the stoves of the presented company have a soot protection system. The average price for the Feringer model is for a 15 sq.m. bath. meters around 32 thousand rubles.

Fehringer models with open heater

Sauna stoves with open heaters have recently become very popular. In this case, the valves are made of fire-resistant steel. Afterburning chambers are located at the bottom of the furnaces. Convectors are installed on models only with grates. They do not have a direct vent. The diameter of the firebox nozzle may vary. Chimneys for stoves are used with an average width of 130 mm. A high-quality stove with an open heater will cost around 24 thousand rubles.

Sauna stoves, causes of breakdown

If a metal stove in a bathhouse breaks down, you need to identify the cause of the breakdown. To do this, it is best to use the services of specialists who know the features of this type of structure. After an inspection, a specialist can determine what needs to be purchased and replaced. It is important to remember that any metal sauna stove has a blower, which must be installed correctly.

A metal stove retains heat quite well. This occurs due to a metal cylinder, which is filled with hot air and holds it for a long time. To identify a malfunction of a metal stove, it is necessary to disassemble the brickwork. If it is discovered that a crack has appeared in the iron, then you need to consult with a specialist to determine whether the iron sheet needs to be changed or whether the crack can be welded using a welding machine. If you need to use welding, then you will additionally need to provide an angle grinder and welding electrodes.

Quite often they began to build metal stoves in the bathhouse, because they are practical, economical and environmentally friendly. The metal from which the stove is made has a long warranty, which significantly increases its performance characteristics. When installing a metal stove for a bath, you must follow certain rules:

  • It is advisable to use a light oven;
  • you need to take into account the distance between the iron and the brickwork;
  • you need to take into account the height of the stove and the distance to the ceiling.

Naturally, such parameters for the installation of a metal furnace can only be taken into account if you have experience in this area. Today, many construction enthusiasts, before starting to build a bathhouse, try to consult with specialists who can warn them against problems that arise later.

If a metal stove is created in a bathhouse made of wood, it is necessary to provide lining with insulation. Today, the insulation can be made of stainless steel sheet, which will allow the stove to be heated to the maximum temperature. Quite often, in bathhouses, the stove began to be installed in the corner.

  • tile;
  • stone;
  • porcelain stoneware;
  • terracotta;
  • clinker;
  • tile.

If, while vaping, people notice that the stove does not emit the required temperature, then it needs to be disassembled and the cause of the low temperature is identified. To do this, it is advisable to provide a plan or drawing with which you can quickly disassemble it and find the cause of the breakdown. Having examined various drawings of stoves, you can repair the stove with your own hands.

Very often you can identify the following faults in a metal furnace:

  • poor fastening of the steel coupling;
  • poorly welded steel disk in the lower part of the furnace;
  • the niche for the firebox is made incorrectly;
  • the chimney is installed incorrectly;
  • the rules regarding the distance between the bottom of the oven and its top are not followed.

In such cases, you should not hesitate; you need to urgently repair the stoves.

When carrying out the correct installation of a metal stove for a bath, you must remember that such a design will allow people to stay in the steam room for a long time. This is due to the fact that during combustion, all carbon monoxide is sent into the chimney, which makes the room always clean and free of smoke. Such a stove is absolutely not harmful to people. If you use it correctly, the possibility of exploitation increases significantly.

To create a metal stove, it is necessary to provide for the presence of certain materials that can be safely used in a room such as a bathhouse. Such materials include:

  • corner for creating a frame;
  • sheet metal;
  • grate;
  • pipe for nozzle;
  • vent doors.

A properly created stove made of sheet metal will release heat into the room, maintaining the desired temperature. If the stove breaks down, you should not light the firebox, you need to fix the breakdown immediately. This will prevent damage to other parts and save fuel, since if there is a malfunction, the stove will not work well.

Devices with a closed heater

Stoves with closed heaters are great for large steam rooms. Their distinctive feature is the volumetric firebox. The models also use special gates. In some furnaces they are installed with a valve. A damper is used for normal air circulation and gas removal. Water dispensers are available in different sizes. The ash chambers themselves are located at the bottom of the devices.

The manufacturer provides heat-resistant linings for the models. Stoves with closed heaters are very simple to operate. The screens are used in different sizes and look great. If necessary, you can always clean the damper yourself. Nowadays, a high-quality stove for a Feringer bathhouse will cost around 32 thousand rubles.

Description of the model "Feringer Classic"

If you believe the opinion of the owners, the Feringer Classic stove is ideal for steam rooms of 15 square meters. meters. In this case, the heater is of a closed type. The ash chamber of the model is located at the bottom of the device. Above it is a thin insulating lining. Stones can be loaded into this oven up to 55 kg. Its height is 800 mm, and the model weighs exactly 120 kg. A flue system is provided in this case. Thus, combustion products never enter the steam room.

The grate at the stove is made of fire-resistant steel. The model's remote tunnel is located at the bottom of the structure. According to many buyers, the ash pan is voluminous. Thus, there is no need to clean it frequently. The combustion chamber lid opens freely. The convector has to be monitored periodically. However, the nozzle rarely gets dirty, so you should only clean it once a month. You can purchase the presented Feringer sauna stove in the store for a price starting from 25 thousand rubles.

Tuning of Feringer stoves

I want to share my version of remaking the Feringer Steam Classic Furnace

I've had the stove for about a year. Everything was fine, but I couldn’t cope with the problem of overheating in the steam room. If you add less firewood, the stones cool down and there is not enough steam; if you add more, the air overheats up to 100 degrees. So, I danced with tambourines, ventilation, and even installed a Feringer steam generator, but I was not satisfied... I decided to change everything) I was thinking of covering it with lamellas (like on standard stoves) , but I thought about it, did the math and decided that even with my own hands it would be a bit complicated and not cheap. I decided to cover the stove... I looked for thick slabs of soapstone, but couldn’t find them. I decided to make do with a soapstone stone. To begin with, I completely disassembled the stove and used a grinder to cut off the inner lining of the stove (which is made of stainless steel). I cut it completely back a centimeter from the bottom of the stove from the combustion tunnel. Now I would do it a little differently - I would not touch parts of the casing on the left and right (up to the firebox level). It doesn't interfere; rather, it will help in the future. But I cut everything off completely - you can see it in the photo. Then I prepared a soapstone brick - washed it and selected a beautiful design - forward, in a simpler way - to where it is not visible. I started laying it out on the end. Cutting brick with a professional tile cutter/stone cutting machine Dewalt 32000. Assembled using heat-resistant mastic. It is based on silicate glue and talc powder. I laid out a row. I waited for the glue to set. About 4 hours. Then I made a groove in the adjacent bricks with a grinder and glued a thick steel nail without a head into this groove. Then he laid out the next row. And so on. In the first - bottom row - the central brick is removed - good access is obtained under the stove and, in particular, access to the ventilation - purge hole with a lid. So gradually, over a few days (3 rows a day), I laid out a stone frame. This frame covers everything - both the space under and above the combustion tunnel. The gap to the tunnel is about a centimeter. The frame does not touch the stove anywhere at all - there are gaps everywhere. After completing the masonry, I assembled the Fehringer Steam Generator and the starting element of the chimney using heat-resistant sealant. (In the starting element of the chimney, I installed a pre-made homemade damper on a thick metal rod). I made a hole in the wall on the left for the gate shaft (also known as the gate rod). I released this shaft to the left through a brick wall and put a small homemade soapstone lever on the shaft. Next, I tried on the top plate and marked the hole for the pipe. I drilled holes around the perimeter of the marked hole with a diamond drill and then cleaned the resulting hole with a roller cutter.

I adjusted the second slab accordingly. Trimmed where necessary. The ends were polished. After that, I removed the top plates and began sanding and polishing the walls. First I went over it with a diamond cup. I leveled the walls so that the bricks were level. Then I moved on to polishing with turtles. I used the following grits - 50,100,200,400,800,1500. I don't think smaller is needed. It won’t get much better, because the brick I got wasn’t the densest. The color is not dark (like the floor tiles under the stove), but gray. But that’s nothing)

After that, I spent a long time washing and vacuuming everything. Because talc is harmful if it gets into the lungs. They even say it is carcinogenic. Before assembling the stove, you need to install a metal grate inside, about a centimeter and a half short of the stone. This is necessary so that the bath stone does not lie between the firebox and the brick wall. The grille needs to be good-quality and rigid. From all four sides. After that I assembled the stove.

As a door, I took a piece of thick porcelain stoneware, drilled holes in it and screwed metal hinges onto the bolts. I added heat-resistant mastic to the holes in the bolts. When it was dry, I laid a small soapstone tile diagonally on the outside of the same mastic for aesthetics. I have the same tiles on the podium under the stove. Then I cut out a handle from the remains of soapstone and polished it. I screwed it to the door with a metal anchor. The angle and direction of installation of the handle can be changed, but for me it’s convenient exactly as in the photo. The door itself was installed in the oven using metal anchors in one of the walls. Holds up well. The door closes in such a way that the porcelain stoneware part is inside the opening, and the soapstone part is outside and overlaps slightly. I removed the chimney with the mermaid. On the stove I left only the steam generator and the starting element of the chimney, into which I cut a homemade damper. The door was made of porcelain stoneware, onto which I glued soapstone tiles (residues from the floor). The brick was assembled using heat-resistant mastic and sanded with a diamond cup and polished with turtles... This is what happened: https http://pechnoi.ru/pech-ps-7-garmonija-2011-goda.html

The stones include about 90 kg. Nephritis. They can be loaded or unloaded easily - the top plate and the crossbar above the door are removed. The door opens and voila - full access to the insides. The dimensions of the steam room, the floor covering turned out to be 2.15 by 2.50. Ceiling height is about 2.7. The bathhouse itself is made of profiled timber. The outside seams are sealed with wood sealant. The inside is upholstered with foamed foil thermal insulation roll, specially heat-resistant for baths. Around the stove there is mineralite, on which soapstone tiles are glued... The stones are laid in front to the full depth, and on the sides - only from the top edge of the firebox (below there is not enough space for the stone, there is a stainless steel screen inserted between the firebox and the brick so that the brick does not overheat in vain...) I put a metal grate in front - stones were poured over it.

Characteristics of the Mini oven

These Feringer sauna stoves receive good reviews from customers, as a rule. They have an open heater. For large steam rooms, the presented modification is not uniquely suitable. It should also be noted that the ash pan of the model is of small capacity. Thus, the device weighs little. However, the ash pan has to be cleaned frequently. All about Feringer sauna stoves: reviews, disadvantages and advantages

Furnaces produced by Fehringer are a completely new development from the plant of the same name. The creators had a single goal - to produce equipment that would be intended for the “Russian bath” regime. The manufacturer tried to fully take into account the tastes and preferences of consumers, as well as modern trends in the heating sector.

Thanks to the painstaking work of specialists, Feringer stoves were manufactured, which are among the best heating equipment for Russian baths. Let us note that exclusively many years of research work, as well as a number of specific tests, made it possible to produce truly high-quality and reliable equipment. Today, there are a considerable number of generally accepted standards that must be taken into account when designing equipment. It should be noted that all these standards were observed.

Technical features of Feringer furnaces

The diversity of the range of this equipment allows you to choose an option for heating residential or utility rooms, as well as for bathhouses. Directly for the steam room, the Feringer range of stoves includes equipment with open and closed heaters, specially lined with stone. According to this, the heating installations closely resemble real stone stoves. All models are united exclusively by proprietary design characteristics:

  • Burning from top to bottom;
  • Absence of an ash pan and grate in the design;
  • Air supply is carried out through special channels in the upper part of the door with heat-resistant glass.

All innovations are developed in order to significantly improve the technical characteristics of Feringer sauna stoves. It is thanks to them that any model of this heating equipment functions for a long time on one tab, while ensuring high efficiency. In addition, top ignition is quite convenient, since there is no need to provide airflow from below, and the actual process of igniting the logs is much faster.

What ensures long-lasting combustion?

Exclusively all Feringer long-burning stoves are made of a metal body with a high firebox. The latter, in turn, is filled to the top with firewood, then covered with a lid. Air is supplied directly through this cover using a pipe. There is a weight pressing on the fuel from above.

As a rule, heating installations for Feringer baths operate in the following modes:

  1. Blowing out the heater. The combustion chamber operates with an open air valve, which directs the entire air flow into the heater. This convection mode allows you to regulate the power of the flow of hot air released into the steam room;
  2. Dry Finnish sauna. The mode operates with the valve open;
  3. The fastest drying of a steam room, with the valve open and the fire burning intensely;
  4. The closed valve provides an imitation of a Russian stove. Direct heating occurs solely from direct contact of the air flow with the hot stone lining of the furnace, without the use of convection currents.

Modern models of Feringer equipment

It is worth noting that this brand produces both stoves for a sauna room - with a closed heater, and installations for saunas - with an open heater.

Heating systems with closed heater

The category of Feringer stoves includes “steam installations” for baths. At the moment, there are five options, the technical features of which are presented in the table below. Please note that the price of equipment is indicated in dollars due to the instability of the exchange rate, without taking into account the cost of installing a stove in the steam room.

If we talk about modifications of Feringer models that are capable of providing Russian bath conditions, then there are three categories:

  1. Malyutka steam room for small steam rooms (up to 16 cubic meters);
  2. Classic – intended exclusively for medium volumes (up to 18 cubic meters);
  3. Harmony, used for steam rooms with a volume of up to 30 cubic meters.

All these installations are characterized by the same internal structure. In this case, only the dimensions differ. They are equipped with solid cast-iron doors, glass doors or a panoramic screen.

During each test, shortcomings were identified, which were subsequently refined and eliminated. Moreover, consumer reviews also indicate the high quality of the equipment, as well as the convenience of its operation.

What do they say about “Feringer Dobrynya”?

The specified Feringer sauna stove is suitable for steam rooms of 13 square meters. meters. The model's ash tray is small in size. However, it is quite easy to maintain. If you believe the opinions of customers, problems with the convector rarely arise. There is a water tank at the top of the chamber. There is a lining under the flap. The external tunnel itself is equipped with a special protective casing. The presented stove also features a high-quality blower. It uses a nozzle of small diameter. A decorative insert near the stove will look great in any bathhouse. You can buy the specified Feringer model for 28 thousand rubles.

Design features

The first thing that catches your eye is the elongated shape and a rather voluminous firebox. Moreover, if you look at the Feringer sauna stove in a horizontal section, it turns out that the firebox is surrounded by stones on almost all sides. And the heat from the wall of the firebox is transferred to the stones, from them the screen is already heated, and then the room is heated by radiant heat from the screen.

Feringer furnace section

Another feature is the firebox without grates. This is because the top combustion principle is used. With this option, the firewood is lit not from below, as we are used to, but from above. This principle makes it possible to use the heat from burning wood to the maximum. In this position, the coals are constantly in the combustion zone. As a result, there are almost no unburned residues. If there are a few coals left, then only those that burned last.

The next design feature is the presence of a smoke tooth and a side combustion system. They also ensure that more heat goes to warming up the heater rather than escaping into the chimney. The side burning system is a special design in the firebox in which the coals do not lie in the center, but are scattered throughout the stack, igniting the wood lying on the side. After all, in wood-burning stoves this is the zone that burns the worst. In Feringer stoves, the entire surface of the wood burns.

The smoke tooth, located in the upper part of the firebox, twists the flame at the top in a spiral (look at the photo). In this way, the flame stays in the firebox longer, heating up the walls more strongly, and small remnants of it end up in the pipe. But the heat that inevitably ends up in the chimney can be used to heat the steam room. For this, Fehringer has several solutions:

  • A heater on a pipe in a traditional and non-traditional design: with a mesh or a decorative carved screen.
  • Controlled convector on a pipe. This is a device with a duct system around a main metal pipe.

    Diagram of air movement during furnace operation

When installing a controlled convector at its very bottom, immediately after the stove is lit, boiling water is poured. As flue gases pass through, water turns into steam and enters specially formed lamella channels. Since moist air (steam) has a large heat capacity, passing along the wall, it takes away and transfers more heat.

Review of the Lada stove

This stove receives only good reviews from customers. This model is suitable for steam rooms of 14 square meters. meters. The combustion chamber in the design is located above the ash pan. The grate itself is located next to the convector. The manufacturer provides an insulating lining under it. The model uses a standard blower. A small door is installed next to the ash chamber, which opens very easily and fits tightly to the frame.

According to many owners, the stove valve is durable. All gases are removed through the system and do not enter the bathhouse. The model has a decorative frame. The gate in this case is of a rotary type. A maximum of 50 kg of stones can be placed in this model. A user can purchase a Feringer sauna stove in a store for 30 thousand rubles.

Design and principle of operation of the Feringer furnace

The oven consists of the following elements:

  • fireboxes;
  • glass door;
  • tunnel;
  • outlet pipe;
  • chimney with plug;
  • containers for stones;
  • air intake.

The firebox has a flame swirler. The container for the stones is attached to the part of the oven that is located in the wig. The surface of the oven is covered with a countertop. The moving part of the tunnel must be securely fixed and sealed. To do this, the seam between the two parts of the tunnel is secured with bolts every 5 cm.

Stones used to heat the steam room should be regularly checked for cracks and chips. It is recommended to replace damaged stones. To obtain hot steam, water must be supplied to the hottest part of the furnace.

Description of the Samarkand model

Many owners value this stove primarily for its compactness. It will not take up much space in the steam room. The combustion chamber itself is 35 cm high. The model has a protective flap. The ash chamber is located above the frame. The blower in the presented model is located on an insulating lining. The convector in the oven is standard. The water dispenser is located immediately above the afterburning chamber.

If you believe the opinion of buyers, then the model’s protection system is of high quality. In this case, there is an external tunnel for air circulation. Installing a stove in a bathhouse is quite simple. The gate is used of a sliding type. The convector has a thermal damper. It should also be noted that a maximum of 55 kg of stones can be placed. A user can buy this Feringer sauna stove in a store for 32 thousand rubles.

Do-it-yourself brickwork of the stove

Many experts know that for long-term use of a metal stove in a bathhouse, it is best to make brickwork on the outside. In this case, it is advisable to provide masonry made of refractory bricks. It is necessary to provide a gap between the metal stove and the brickwork.

When building a stove in a bathhouse, it is necessary to purchase high-quality sheets of iron. It is best if it is iron 4-5 mm thick. If at the initial stage of building a metal furnace, low-quality iron is purchased, then the furnace can quickly fail. Most often, such stoves lack draft, which makes the steam room poorly heated. If you build a metal stove with your own hands, then you must take into account all fire safety requirements.

Review of the Malyutka stove

If we talk about the parameters of the Feringer Malyutka stove, it is important to note that its weight is 110 kg, the width of the grate is 40 cm, and the manufacturer provides a chimney of 155 mm. In this case, the fuel chamber has a grate. If you believe consumer reviews, the ash pan can be easily removed from the oven. There is an insulating lining underneath.

The blower in the design is standard, problems with it rarely arise. However, the model still has disadvantages. First of all, owners note the small afterburner. There is no damper in it. The frame is solid, but its legs are not very stable. If we talk about the advantages, then a high-quality gas exhaust system deserves attention. In this case, the manufacturer provides a casing over the convector.

The model's remote tunnel has a large diameter. The manufacturer provides a water dispenser. There is a separate channel for supplying secondary air. The glass in the presented device is heat-resistant type. A maximum of stones can be loaded into a container of 60 kg. The specified model is suitable for baths of 15 square meters. meters. It is also important to note that the gate is installed with a valve. You can find the Malyutka stove (steam modification) in the store at a price of 24 thousand rubles.
