Diagram of a wood-burning stove “Teplodar” for a bathhouse
These stoves have not won the hearts of many bathhouse lovers for nothing: they have several features that have a positive effect on their characteristics:
- The main parts of the firebox are made of two to four millimeter sheets of stainless steel containing at least 13% chromium. In areas of greatest load, steel with a 17% alloy metal content is used. This is the only manufacturer in Russia that produces such thick-walled stainless steel stoves.
- The perforated steel convector casing promotes rapid heating of air and stones. But for heating, a minimum of fuel is used.
- The built-in steam generator can produce light steam within half an hour after the stove starts firing. This allows you to create a humidity regime characteristic of a Russian bath (not all models are equipped with it).
- Dispenser taps on the water tank allow you to control the water supply to the heater and control the level of humidity in the room.
- Almost all fuel units can be retrofitted with a gas burner (if there is an extended firebox). This option is convenient if it is possible to connect to the main gas pipeline.
- The average sauna readiness time is 50 minutes.
Description
View gallery Teplodar stoves are quite common today. They have many advantages, as well as features that will be described below. This manufacturer produces 10 lines of devices of this type. By visiting the store, you can choose from 50 modifications. The durability of such stoves depends on the firebox material.
Teplodar stoves, reviews of which are often positive, are characterized by the use of stainless steel in the production process. The thickness of the material can vary from 4 to 6 millimeters. Among other things, the design has a high chromium content, the volume of which is limited to 13 percent for the main part, while 17% of this substance is added to create elements that will be subject to maximum thermal load during operation.
Teplodar stoves, reviews of which can only be negative if used incorrectly, have increased strength characteristics that are characteristic of the combustion chambers of some models. Thus, the “Pro” model is common among avid bathhouse attendants. And if you want to watch the fire, then you should prefer the “Panorama” modification, which is equipped with an oversized glass located in the firebox door.
Review of some models
offers a diverse range of thermal units, consisting of 10 basic models (five times more modifications). The models are focused on creating a wet or dry mode (for baths and saunas). There are also combined versions of stoves that are suitable for both types of steam rooms at the same time.
Connoisseurs of an ordinary Russian bath with an optimal balance of air humidity and temperature will like the “Rus” stove models, its updated version “New Rus'” and “Kuban”.
Bath stoves "Rus " are distinguished by a rectangular firebox with smoothed corners. On top there is an open type heater with a chimney coming out of the center. They are designed for a standard steam room volume of 4–18 cubic meters.
The heater can hold from 25 to 105 kg of stones, a convector casing, a high-speed steam generator with a water supply dispenser (in some models) - all this helps maintain a stable balance of humidity and air temperature. You can choose a stove with a shortened or extended combustion channel to organize the optimal combustion method. It is possible to order the design of the fuel chamber door in two options: panoramic heat-resistant glass or a regular steel door with self-cooling. If desired, gas burner devices can be installed on Rus units of the 12th and 18th modifications.

The “New Russia” stove is the same “Rus”, but improved. The appearance has been transformed, the heater has been improved - it has become even larger, and the stones heat up even better. The updated design made it possible to reduce the heat load on the chimney and increase the heat transfer of the unit itself. The stoves are additionally equipped with a hanging tank or a heat exchanger with a remote tank of 60 or 80 liters.
If you like experimenting with steaming modes, then choose the Kuban wood stove . It is equipped with a closed and open heater at the same time and quickly heats the room. Moreover, the closed heater has a built-in device for automatically supplying water to the stones, which creates dry, light steam that is invisible to the eye. Thanks to it, the humidity regime of the Russian bath is created. Suitable for steam rooms 10–20 cu.m. m., is additionally equipped with a hanging tank of a suitable volume or a heat exchanger with a remote tank of 60 or 80 liters.

A kind of symbiosis is the Domna stove - it is suitable for both baths and saunas with a steam room volume of 10–25 cubic meters. m. It has an elegant combined body: the front and rear walls are made of stainless steel with convection holes, and the side walls are in the form of a mesh for 140 kg of stones.
This unusual design of the stove ensures effective heat exchange, and a large number of stones gives soft warmth. But the main feature of the “Burnace” is a vertical cylindrical firebox, inside of which there is a closed heater.
There is a special funnel for supplying water inside the heater, which makes it possible to get light steam. There are 2 holes for cleaning. They will make caring for the stove much easier.
The built-in dispenser with a spray distributes water evenly over the hottest layers of stones, which provides light steam. The built-in heat exchanger and water tank are purchased separately.
The Teplodar Domna sauna stove has an interesting design
Gas-burning devices can be installed on the Domna bath stoves (excluding the modification with a panoramic firebox door).
Particular attention is drawn to the stove for baths and saunas “Siesta” , which combines several directions at the same time. It can not only heat the steam room, but also admire the process through the fireplace door and even cook a barbecue. This most unusual representative of the Teplodar stove series is designed for a steam room volume of up to 20 cubic meters. m. They are equipped with a vertical firebox, which is closed on different sides by a convector.
The closed heater is located at the rear of the stove. The upper part of the unit consists of louvered grilles and air ducts for heating the adjacent room. The stove is equipped with an Anti-Smoke and glass self-cleaning system, a built-in steam generator, and dampers in the door and chimney to regulate the combustion process.

The set includes a grill grate and an iron sheet to cover the grate during cooking.
A little soot will still settle on the door, even despite the glass self-cleaning system. In order for the soot to burn out, it is necessary to open the air supply regulator as much as possible and ignite an intense fire. The temperature of the air leaving the corrugated hoses can reach up to 150°C, so it should not be directed onto wooden surfaces.
Attention! It is strictly forbidden to use coal and its derivatives to fire the stove.
No less popular is the innovative model of the wood-burning stove "Sahara" , which is equally suitable for different types of steam rooms, baths and saunas. The heating unit is available in 5 different modifications for heating steam rooms measuring 4–24 cubic meters. m.
The stove body has an octagonal shape due to smoothed corners. The outer casing can be made of mirror stainless steel.
Different versions of the heater: two-chamber in the “Sahara 10” and dome in the models “Sahara 16”, “Sahara 24” and “Sahara Profi”. The Sahara 10 stove is equipped with a removable 33-liter water tank; other models are equipped with samovar-type tanks and heat exchangers for an additional fee. The combustion channel door can be made of self-cooling steel or heat-resistant SCOTT ROBAX glass.
The Sahara Teplodar sauna stove is available in different modifications
The Siberian Cliff mesh stove is designed for heating saunas measuring 10–20 cubic meters. m. has a classic firebox shape, around which there are 180 kg of stones in a forged mesh bandage. All models in this series are equipped with a perforated convector and a built-in steam generator with a stainless steel funnel for supplying water to the stones.
With this unit you can set any humidity mode in the sauna: you can install a dispenser faucet on the water tank. With its help, by changing the water supply speed, you can automate the water supply to the heater.
Stove-mesh for the bathhouse “Sibirsky Utes Teplodar”
As an additional option, this model can be purchased with a panoramic door made of translucent and heat-resistant SCOTT ROBAX glass, and can also be equipped with a water tank of various sizes. On the Sibirsky Utes 20 LP Profi model it is possible to install a GGU (gas burner).
Attention! You should not supply water to the steam generator when the heater has cooled down, as well as pouring more than 100-200 grams into the funnel at a time or not observing the frequency between water supply of less than 2 minutes - this will lead to incomplete evaporation of the water and will simply flood the heater.
Another option for a classic Finnish sauna is the Siberia stove . It heats the sauna to 100–120°C in just 30 minutes and creates high air temperature and low humidity in the steam room. Exactly what a classic Finnish sauna needs.
The oven is designed for rooms measuring 10–20 m2. There is an option for commercial use: the Sibir Profi model is designed for rooms measuring 20–30 m2. Models for small saunas weigh from 44 to 59 kg and can accommodate stones weighing 55 kg. You can purchase the Siberia Panorama modification with a 17-inch diagonal fireplace door made of heat-resistant glass or with a built-in heat exchanger for a remote tank.
The Siberia sauna stove will quickly heat up the steam room
For the “Rus”, “Sahara” and “Siberia” heaters, the manufacturer offers to purchase a net for the heater, with which you can steam a bath broom. To do this, the Teplodar mesh is installed on top of the heater, and a broom pre-moistened in water is placed on top. To steam a broom, just pour water on the hot stones a couple of times - the steam released will bring the broom to the desired state.

In addition, the Siberia Panorama modification, equipped with a door made of heat-resistant glass, is available for sale. This option allows you to feel like you are sitting in front of the fireplace.
Installation of the Teplodar stove
Teplodar has its own recommendations for each stove. For clarity, we present the installation diagrams for the Sahara 10 oven. It is important to follow some recommendations when placing the heating unit:
Installation diagram of one of the Teplodar stoves. Recommendations are included in every passport
- the safe distance from the fuel unit to walls made of combustible materials should be at least 500 mm to the sides and back, 1250 mm forward and 1200 mm up, but when using a brick screen, this distance can be reduced by 4 times with a gap of 30 mm to combustible surfaces;
- a brick screen is installed 5 cm above the stove;
- In front of the combustion door, the floor of combustible materials should be protected with an iron sheet.
How to heat the Teplodar stove
It is necessary to heat the stove for the first time for at least 1 hour with the windows and doors of the bathhouse open. In this case, the firebox load should be maximum, the heater should be empty, and the water tank should be full. During the first heating, the technological compounds and oils that were used in the production process burn out.
After the oven has cooled down, drain the water from the tank and ventilate the room. After the oven has completely cooled down, you can load the stones into the heater.
During further operation, follow the rules:
- melt using dry small wood chips or birch bark when loading 2/3 of the firebox volume;
- during combustion, place firewood on the grate, and not on the combustion channel (if the modification has an external firebox);
- do not burn construction waste with paint and varnish coating, plastic, rubber and other materials that emit harmful substances;
- after good draft appears and half of the stored fuel has burned out, additionally fill the firebox to 2/3 of the volume and completely open the ash pan;
- after the room has warmed up, cover the ash pan and use 2-3 logs per pad to maintain the temperature: in this mode, the water, stones and air in the bathhouse will “keep” their temperature;
- After completing the bath procedures, you should heat the stove again and dry the room by opening the door and ventilation windows.
Attention! For safety reasons, when throwing in the next batch of firewood, you must first completely close the ash pan, and then carefully open the firebox door.

Reviews of Teplodar stoves
Most often in positive reviews about Teplodar stoves you can find opinions that can be briefly combined on some similar points:
- the units have a reliable and fairly simple design;
- variety of choice of models for different modes of steam baths and saunas;
An example of installing a furnace with an external fuel channel
- quickly heat the steam room and water to the desired temperature;
- long service life and trouble-free operation;
- spectacular appearance of mesh ovens;
- convenient and efficient steam generator;
- there is no need to equip the chimney with additional valves, since the ash pan regulates air access to the firebox;
- the central placement of the chimney suits most: it is easier to make the ceiling cut;
- a decent combination of price and quality when compared with foreign analogues.
Let’s say right away that there are no sharply negative reviews about Teplodar stoves, but there are some disadvantages that are mentioned in them:
- one owner about the low location of the firebox door, and the other about the close location of the chimney to the fuel channel (for this reason it was necessary to take it away from the wall), about steam due to strong air convection;
- there are reviews about asymmetrically installed and offset doors on stoves, low-quality and narrowed chimneys (instead of the promised 115 mm 113 mm);
- There are complaints about heat exchanger registers, which, according to some owners, are unreliable and leak quite quickly, but they are very difficult to repair.
As you can see, the comments are not critical. When deciding on a specific stove model, start with what kind of heater you need - open, closed, or maybe combined? And after that, taking into account the size of the steam room and personal preferences, you can easily determine several suitable options.
"Siberian Cliff" - unique design and maximum efficiency
Possessing a high heating rate, the Siberian Cliff heater is one of the best models representing the design of a mesh stove. The stones for the stove in this modification are located around the firebox in a special forged mesh. This allows the top stones to warm up much better than in other models.
Excellent convection, obtained due to the presence of free space between the fuel channel and the stones, helps to achieve the effect of a Finnish sauna with heating temperatures of up to 140 degrees. Thanks to the large volume of stones, the steam in the room is light and comfortable for the body to perceive. Agree, this will be highly appreciated by ordinary lovers and real gourmets of couples procedures.
A convection-ventilated heater, a built-in steam generator and an unusual appearance will help this model not only decorate your sauna, but also give you maximum pleasure while steaming.
